Sweet Farmers Cheese (Twaróg) Pierogi
A best seller in every Polish milk bar. Polish-style farmers cheese or ‘twaróg’, is naturally low in fat, and has a mild taste. The process of creating farmers cheese is very time intensive, which is why it’s typically found in only European delicatessens and specialty grocers.
For our rendition of this pierogi we use an all-natural farmer’s cheese, sweeten it with sugar, and finish with a hint of vanilla. The final product is reminiscent of a tart cheesecake. These pierogi are served for dinner or as a dessert with custard, honey or fruit, or plain garnished with sweetened cream or powdered sugar. A true delicacy!!
